Riverview Cafe

Such a gem in the sleepy town of Plymouth. We recently went there for the first time and the setting, staff and food were all terrific. I had a yummy pecan dessert before our lunch. We even had nice live music. I returned here recently and had another great meal with a group of friends. I definitely recommend giving them a try.

I was in town today as part of my quest to visit all 100 counties in North Carolina, and I stopped in to take a snack back with me to my hotel. You enter from the street through the artisan Market which has a lot of really cute items before you get to the actual cafe in the back. And that's where you get the name of the cafe because the river view is amazing! There was a lot of comfy seating and a lot of great options for snacks or full meals. I opted for an unsweet tea that was brewed a little bit strong but it was still good. I also picked up a molasses cookie and a recommended pecan pie bar. The pecan pie bar was okay. But I'm not a huge fan of pecan pie. The molasses cookie? AMAZING. I would definitely stop into this location again if I was in the area. The staff was really great and it was just an overall pleasant experience on a very hot day for a reasonable price.

What a nice experience! I grew up in a small town and since I have moved away, I sometimes miss the small town charm and service that you get at businesses that are in those areas. This place helped me to feel that again! We met the owner and a pup named Abby, who were both very kind. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and everything was clean. Our food came out quickly and I enjoyed the Gobbler (especially the thick slices of tomato). My husband had the Roast Beef which he also enjoyed. The owner went through a little bit of history about the building and the river itself (which you have a great view of from inside). Overall, a very nice place to enjoy instead of your typical fast food joints nearby.

What a gem this find was. The Riverview cafe was pleasing from beginning to end. We travel a lot and wish there were more cafes like this one. Meticulously clean, friendly staff, and delicious food. They even welcomed our pup with smiles. We enjoyed the grilled French dip(special of the day) and the grilled ham and cheese. The sandwiches were grilled just right, bread still slightly soft on the inside and nice toast on the exterior. The deli meats and cheese used seemed high quality. The owners walk around making sure everything is satisfactory and that the cafe remains clean. During our visit they had low key live music which was enjoyable. The front of the cafe has a little artisan market. I loved to see them supporting local craters as well as the local senior center crafters. I highly recommend Riverview cafe for those seeking a unique experience and great food all in one.

Great little spot on the river. They let us bring our small dog inside. Great grilled sandwiches. My husband said that might be the best Reuben he’s had. Nice stop on our way home from OBX.

While traveling from Nags Head to Wilmington we got hungry and started looking for a place to grab lunch. We try our best to support local, small businesses, and see new places when possible. Sooooo glad we did. I'm giving them 5 stars. Not because it was a "5-star restaurant" but because it's the type of place I'd spend lots of time in if I lived there. And the people were as nice as I've ever met. I didn't know anything about Plymouth NC until today, and Riverview Cafe made me want to stay a lot longer. Oh and yeah, the food was very good!

Great spot to stop for lunch en route home from OBX. Fresh, delicious sandwiches and salads were cooked perfectly. Potato salad is excellent. Desserts looked mouthwatering.
